Excelling in both form and function, this modern take on a historic Maine axe design is made entirely by hand by talented Maine craftsmen.
Blade
Each blade is hand-forged with premium U.S. 1050 carbon tool steel, tempered to a Rockwell hardness of 56–58, and honed for a "wicked sharp" edge. In short, this axe is ready to take on all your hard work.
Handle
The 28" handle is made with A+ grade, Amish-turned hickory. Each piece of wood is carefully inspected for quality, flexibility, and grain structure to ensure a well-balanced powerhouse of an axe. Handle color may vary slightly.
Cover
Each Maine-made leather sheath is embossed with the Down East logo to make the ultimate Maine-themed axe. Make sure to cover the axe when not in use to protect the blade and yourself.
