Amber Boutiette and Patrick Breeding, founders of Marin Skincare, discovered a sustainable way to repair dry and damaged skin while studying biomedical engineering at the University of Maine. Their secret ingredient? The protein that allows lobsters to regenerate limbs. Now, customers in all 50 states are treating their skin with hydration cream and lip balms made with glycoproteins, a byproduct of the lobster industry that previously went down the drain. Their success is just one example of the enduring resourcefulness that defines Maine’s people — a story Down East has proudly showcased since 1954 and is thrilled to support with these limited-edition bundles designed using nostalgic illustrations from the Magazine of Maine.
