Leslie Forsdick always knew she wanted to do something creative and during her more than 20 year professional career, constantly felt the pull towards artistic design. So in 2014, after a company restructuring left her without a job and with a clean slate, LESL Ware was born.
“I started thinking, ‘I can do this,’” she says. Leslie began making bracelets and necklaces from organic materials and her primary designs now feature freshwater pearls paired with leather – a combination she’d always loved for its versatility and contrast. “They can be worn dressed up or worn more casually for everyday – a great accent to any style at any age.”
Leslie works from her home-based studio in Portland, on a six-foot live-edge workbench her husband made. She loves working with customers to find the right piece that works with their wardrobes and lifestyles. Above all, she treasures the time she gets to experiment with new styles and material combinations.
“I just love the creative process,” she says. “It gets my mind focused. When I’m in the zone time just flies by.”
