Hurricane photographed by Norrie Thompson
Judged Second Place Landscape in the 2025 Down East Photo Contest
"I always say...for me 'Photography is a feeling'. I took this particular shot on a stormy Christmas Eve. I know the waves can be pretty spectacular during storms at the Marshall Point Lighthouse so I quickly headed there. With the remaining light of dusk peaking through the tiny bits of clearing, and the chance of how the light of the lighthouse was hitting the water, and the peculiar way the waves were crashing that night...I knew I was at the best place at the best time. While looking through my camera roll this photo caught my eye as well as my soul...I could feel this photo."
The print features a luster finish, a pebble-textured glossy surface that reduces reflections while retaining strong color and contrast. The print is landscape-oriented and matted to a size of 12” x 18”; both the print and the matted frame are of archival quality.
