Trip Description:
Come enjoy a quintessential Maine stay on an island just minutes from Port Clyde. Arriving at Maine Island Lodge starts a time warp in the heart of Vacationland. There are no cars on this island, but one can enjoy walking on paths, beach combing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, or simply sitting with the sounds of nature. We’ll even take a boat ride to the lighthouse that Forrest Gump ran to, Eastern Egg Rock to see puffins, and visit the island-scapes used in N.C. Wyeth paintings. The lodge is located near Friendship, home of the original lobstering boats and Friendship sloops. Experience a beachfront bake with lobster from one of the local fishermen and oysters from our next-door-neighbor’s oyster farm. Please join us for a two-night classic Maine adventure! 12 guest maximum. Arrive at 2 p.m., depart at 11 a.m.
