Come enjoy a quintessential Maine stay on an island just minutes from Port Clyde. Arriving at the recently updated lodge on Gay Island starts a time warp in the heart of Vacationland. There are no cars on this island but one can enjoy walking on paths, beachcombing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, or simply sitting with sounds of nature. We’ll even take a boat ride to the lighthouse that Forest Gump ran to and visit the island-scapes used in N.C. Wyeth paintings. We’ll also take a tour to see the puffins on Eastern Egg Rock. The lodge is located near Friendship, home of the original lobstering boats, Friendship sloops. Experience a beachfront bake with lobster from one of the local fishermen, and oysters from our next-door neighbor’s oyster farm. Please join us for a two-night classic Maine Adventure!
The trip starts at 2 p.m. on Friday, August 9 and ends at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 11.
